Chinese New Year Collaboration: Dragon

Hello everyone! :) First of all, Happy Chinese New Year! With today's date, the horse relieves the snake for the whole next year. The wonderful Gin from pandagin.blogspot.com organized a superb beauty blogger collaboration to start off the new year in the best way possible!
Everyone who joined had to translate one of the zodiac signs into either a make-up look, an outfit or a nailart design. :) I was lucky enough to snatch the Dragon off all the other lovely participants. :)

The Dragon

So, when I researched on the Dragon, I realized that its associated sun sign is actually the Aries, which happens to be my actual Zodiac. This means in some way, that the Dragon shares a lot of traits with the Aries.

The Dragon is one of the most powerful and lucky Signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Its warm heart makes the Dragon's brash, fiery energy far more palatable. This is a giving, intelligent and tenacious Sign that knows exactly what it wants and is determined to get it. Dragons possess a certain natural, charming charisma that ensures they can always influence their peers and often find themselves the center of attention in social situations. This Sign is truly blessed, too; Dragons are considered to be very lucky in love! The Dragon's friends are always keen to hear what this firebrand has to say and when it comes to dispensing advice, the Dragon has the floor. (...)

My Look

I decided to go for the make-up look myself, even though I never actually attempted to create anything like this before, but I think it worked out pretty nicely. :)

Tutorial

(Sleek Storm 578 palette, essence superfine eyeliner, Manhattan extreme last lipliner 44N, Catrice Absolute Eye Colour 410, Innisfree Color Glow #4, L'Oreal Fake Lash Extension Mascara, Lioele Triple The Solution BB Cream)

(My palette is really old. :( I'll be referring to the eyeshadows by their numbers in the tutorial)

Alternatively to 1: nude eyeshadow as primer
Alternatively to 2: white shimmery eyeshadow as highlighter
Alternatively to 3: a different warm gold eyeshadow

Step 1: Apply foundation & a nude eyeshadow to start this look off.

Step 2: Apply a grey eyeshadow (Catrice Absolute Eye Colour 410) halfway across your eyelids. Try to blend it out as you go, you don't want it to be too dark.

Step 3: Take eyeshadow #3 and apply it to the outer lid, creating a gradient effect with the grey eyeshadow.

Step4: Apply a little bit of #2 in the corners of your eyes to make them appear larger.

Step 5: Take a red eyeliner and draw a line halfway across your lid. I used a lipliner for this alternatively because I could not find a red eyeliner anywhere.

Step 6: Create a winged eyeliner using the eyeliner of your preference. Make sure the two lines blend into eachother nicely.

Step 7: Take the red eyeliner again and draw a slim line just below the wing you just created.

Step 8: Now, apply mascara. Fake lashes are optional, I did not use any in this look. :)

Step 9: Apply some red lipstick of your choice. Be careful to match it with the colour of your eyeliner!

DONE! :D

Sample Review: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit #2 Natural Beige

Hello lovelies! It's sunday so my weekly post is overly due as every week haha I'm so sorry but lately I can't seem to get around to make proper pictures. Besides, I'm also taking part on a special collab for Chinese New Year so stay tuned for next week. ;) ~ I'm really looking forward to share my post.

So, I still have some normal sized products to review, but this sample struck me in a certain way so I wanted to share my opinion of it as soon as possible. Mainly because this seems like the holy grail for my bad skin. OTL

So, this sample was sent to me by my lovely sponsors Beautynetkorea!

Beautynetkorea is an online retail store that specializes on Korean cosmetics and beauty products. Their service is great and they always have really good offers. It would mean a lot to me if you could check them out! <3

This BB cream comes in four different shades, as you can tell from the graphic. I will review shade W13 "Natural Beige" today.

Packaging:
As this is a sample review, I can hardly say anthing about the packaging of the product, as samples usually come in a package like this one:

Swatches:
On the following two pictures you can clearly tell how the product looks when it comes freshly out of the packaging and how it looks like blended on my hand.

I did not actually blend the whole blob of BB cream on my hand, that's only what's left after applying it to my face. :,D

Soo, no on to the before and after pictures! Bear in mind that my skin is ridiculously spotty lately.

Coverage:
A+! No really, this BB cream's coverage is amazing. For my not-so-oily skin it provides a rather solid coverage thorough the day. It does lose it's power after a couple of hours, but it's not as bad as other foundations or BB creams that I used.

Finish:
Surprisingly, the finish of this BB cream is matte. I expected it to be rather dewy, but lately, I prefer a matte finish anyway.

Scent:
This BB cream comes with a typical make-up scent which is not very prominent. I did not even smell it right after applying it.

Stickyness:
Not at all. The finish seems much drier than that of the Tonymoly BB cream I recently reviewed. I love how my hair doesn't get stuck on my face with this BB cream. ^^°

Breakouts:
I can't really tell as I have only used it once so far.

Would buy? Definitely! I think this will relieve my Tonymoly BB cream, even though it is a little more expensive.

Where to buy: Beautynetkorea for 14,40USD

I hope you enjoyed the review! Stay tuned for my Chinese New Year post :)

Review: Holika Holika 24H Wonder Drawing Auto Eyebrow in #3 Light Brown (Sponsored)

Hi everyone! Have you been well last week? I hope so. :) I am sorry for my absence lately, but I have discovered a game for myself that I have been playing basically non-stop over the course of last week. I'm talking about Aura Kingdom, Aeria Games' newest Anime Style MMORPG. :) If you are interested in it, I would love to introduce you to it with a blogpost next week. :)

Anyway, that is not what I wanted to talk about today! Today, I'm reviewing yet another product by my lovely sponsors from  Beautynetkorea!

Holika Holika's eyebrow pencil comes in four different shades, so you can match it to your hair colour perfectly. I will review #3 "Light Brown", so you can see how light they actually go.

Packaging:

So, the packaging is very simple overall. :) The colour of the tube indicates which eyebrow pencil you are about to buy so you don't necessarily have to look on the back side of the product.
The pencil itself is easily accessible if you twist the black part surrounding it.

Swatches:
So, first of all, I am sorry that my eyebrows look a little all over the place, but I've been trying to grow them out in order to achieve the "straight eyebrow" that is so trendy at the moment. @_@ Besides, the fact that I'm wearing my bangs quite long makes me pretty lazy at grooming my eyerbrows OTL.

So, you can see that the colour of the product is actually quite light. :)

My ridiculously full and long eyebrows x___x.

Filled in with a couple of swipes of the eyebrow pencil.

So, this is actually the first eyebrow pencil I've been using on a regular basis, and even though it is quite light on my eyebrows, I have to say that I really like it. :) It's very easy to apply and it lasts an eternity.

Pro's
Longlasting
You get a lot of product for little money
4 different colours
A brush is included

Con's
None

Repurchase: Probably, but I would love to get a closer look at other eyebrow pencils too. :)

Where to buy? Beautynetkorea for about 5USD

So, as you can see, you can't see a lot. ;) Yeah, my bangs are rather long at the moment...

Do you use eyebrow pencils yourself? If so, what are your favourite brands?

P.S.: I am not trying to sound arrogant in any way now, but if you are just going to comment "Lovely Post, please check out my blog and follow me, I will follow back." then please save yourself some trouble. I generally only follow blogs I am interested in and I will NOT check out your blog if that's the only reason you commented on my post.
Thank you for your consideration.

Review: Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner in #1 Black (Sponsored)

Hi everyone! So far, January has been passing rapidly for me because I picked up so many activities again this year, including digital art and writing. So, I decided to present you another product that was sent to me by Beautnetkorea!

Beautynetkorea is an online retail store that specializes on Korean cosmetics and beauty products. Their service is great and they always have really good offers. It would mean a lot to me if you could check them out! <3

This time, however, I have to say that I have probably set my hopes up too high before receiving this product, as I turned out to be completely underwhelmed by it. Anyway, on to my review. :)

So, at the first look, it is definitely a plus for this eyeliner that it comes in so many different colours for both purposes: upper and lower lashline

Packaging:

Each eyeliner colour from this series has a different coloured packaging. This being said, the black one doesn't really stand out amongst other eyeliners in my opinion. Plus, the glittery text makes it really hard to take decent photos of it for reviews. :(
As this is a gel eyeliner, you won't be able to sharpen it once it turns blunt, and mind that it doesn't come any sharper than this. Edit: You can, of course, sharpen this product but I was not very successful. The creamy texture caused the eyeliner to break constantly while sharpening it.

Swatches:

So, the line that this eyeliner produces is a rather bold one and very rich in colour. I do think, however, that thanks to it's gel tip, it is really hard to draw a nice winged eyeliner with it because it usually ends up pretty thick.

As you can see, the eyeliner is very resistant towards water but it can't handle rubbing that well.

This shot was taken after I washed my hands, so there was water and rubbing included. You can clearly tell that the line that had previously been left alone has endured this treatment the best.

Here you can see once again how hard it was for me to draw a winged eyeliner with this product. Besides, it already smudged a little right after application and I have no oily eyelids at all. :(

Pro's
Available in many different colours
Rather cheap
Waterproof
Highly Pigmented

Con's
Smudges easily
Can't be sharpened properly

Repurchase? Definitely not.

Where to buy? Beautynetkorea for 5US$

Are there any products that you were very curious about that let you down? I would love to know! :)
